Sadly neglected for decades, the old town has fallen to disrepair. Many homes have been abandoned as the younger generations left for greener pastures.
These photographs were from the first day we visited the old town. It was cold, damp, and miserable. The streets were deserted and the only signs of life were the occasional vehicles parked in the worst possible places.
We returned the following day to bright sunshine and activity but struggled to find anyone under the age of fifty. Lovely people, though.
